《光明在我们前面》是胡也频的最后一部长篇小说，是通过爱情描写表现政治信仰的长篇小说。小说以“五卅”运动为背景，写一个无政府主义青年妇女白华转变为共产主义的故事。白华丈夫刘希坚是个共产党员，开始他们两人经常为各自的政治信仰而争辩。“五卅”运动爆发后，大批青年被枪杀，血的教训终于使白华抛弃了无政府主义而转向共产主义。小说表现力强，精炼紧凑，扣人心弦。
胡也频（1903-1931），原名胡崇轩，福建省福州人。是“左联”五烈士之一。作为革命作家的胡也频，具有多方面的创作才能，他不仅善于写诗歌、小说，也写戏剧和杂文。
