近期佛光山喜事連連，獲得國家環境教育獎之外，佛館也獲環境部認證環境教育設施場所，這個歡喜是13年努力的成果。佛館在最初的建置過程裡，將環境會產生的「果」排除，先在「因」地上用功，家師星雲大師很重視環保，一開始建設就做了中水回收系統，佛館在2013年就進行ISO50001能源管理，所以我們非常在意用了多少度的電？園區用了多少水？以及產生多少的垃圾？我們也關心進館的汽車、遊覽車能源問題，未來節能減碳，小車大車能不能加速接軌大眾運輸系統來到佛館，因此我們和高雄市政府就有很密切的合作。
在環境教育這塊領域，我們培養了13位法師到南華大學做環境教育認證，2023年也得到BSI碳盤查認證。改變一個法師可以影響一萬個信徒，改變一千個法師可以影響全世界的信徒，佛光山在全世界有那麼多的道場，從住持心保和尚的倡議到全球佛光人，都在做「環境教育」這件事。感謝環境部
一直給予佛館的指導，我們更願意做環境部在地實踐的推廣者，也是我們在地球上永遠的使命。
